Wisense for Agriculture
 
Wisense for Spa Quality Control
 

The Cypriot Agriculture Research Institute in collaboration with the Cyprus University of Technology selected the Wisense platform for the acquisition and real-time monitoring of several agriculture related sensor data (soil moisture, soil temperature, temperature, humidity, air speed and direction etc) in their effort to estimate evapotranspiration in Crops.  The platform's advanced features  such as: solar-powered,operation, no cabling requirement, communication through GPRS, continuous operation under any environmental condition, were important in the selection of Wisense since the specific WSN is deployed in a remote agriculture location with no nfrastructure. Wisense added significant value through increased sampling rates, great power autonomy, real time remote monitoring.

 

The Wisense platform is efficiently used by a world-leading Spa based in Cyprus for real-time monitoring and control of the daily  processes and operations. The system offered a cost-effective, cable-free and scalable solution, ideal for easy integration to the facilities of the Spa and added value by significantly reducing operation costs and improving energy efficiency and quality control.  Post-processing of a vast amount of  collected data helped to improve the Spa systems and processes adding a significant value to the customer quality of service and the building resources management.

The Wisense platform has been succesfully used for monitoring of Irradiation  in specific locations in Cyprus were the deployment of solar-parks are under study. A customised solar irradiation remote monitoring data aquisition hardware was designed and deployed while the Wisense platform enabled real-time remote monitoring and data logging.  The  project is currently under development so as to expand the system's capabilities  for enabling the photovoltaic park operators to easily monitor the solar irradiation and performance of their  investment  without the need of any infrastructure (wiring, power supply,communication)

 

The Wisense platform was deployed by the University of Cyprus for the  continuous monitoring of water-pipe infrastructure networks aiming the early detection of water leaks.  The University, uses the platform as the main data collection, logging and monitoring system in its research for  the development of advanced water management systems for water utility boards. The project which is funded by the Cypriot Research Promotion Foundation aims to enhance the water-pipe network management  processes and optimize  the networks’ operation.
